Welding & Metal Fabrication

Welding

The Welding Technology program prepares students for a variety of occupations within the welding trade. Electric arc welding disciplines taught include Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Gas Metal Arc Welding, Flux Core Arc Welding, and Gas Tungsten Arc Welding. Additionally, Oxygen/Acetylene gas welding and brazing are taught. Manual plasma and CNC plasma arc and oxygen/acetylene gas cutting methods are included within this program along with blue print reading for welders and reading weld symbols as technically related subjects. Various methods are used, with manual and power tools, to fabricate and weld parts made of aluminum, steel, and stainless steel within this program. Students are able to take one American Welding Society certification exam upon satisfactory completion of any one of the weld training processes.
