We have had some exciting
changes for the 2018-2019 school year! We have restructured many of our routes
so that students 5 through 12 are transported on the same bus. This brings many
advantages, one of the biggest is that there is no longer a need for our
elementary buses to travel to multiple schools. The improvements that have been
made are immense. A few examples include: less road miles causing improved
efficiency, less ride time for our students and most of all, since the buses
don’t have to travel to more than one school, students are able to have
instruction time right up until the bell at the end of the day!
With any change brings its
own challenges and with the new routing system, larger bus loads are anticipated
on the high school and middle school routes rather than on elementary buses
like in years past. We will be doing weekly counts throughout the year and
adjusting routes accordingly to accommodate and improve the experience of
riding the bus. We are also requiring that parents/guardians to submit a
request for transportation annually as well as throughout the year, if they
want their student to start riding the bus. These forms are located in the
“resources” section of our page as well as the parents section.
We will not
be able to approve bus passes at any grade level. Our concern is getting our
students home in a timely and safe manner.
Please talk to your students about behaviors on the bus. The same rules apply on the bus as in the classroom. Stay in your seat. Use classroom voices. Keep your hands to yourself. No inappropriate language. No eating or drinking on the school bus. Violations of these rules will result in a "Bus Write-Up" that will lead to a bus suspension.

I hope everyone has a great school year
that brings many new and exciting learning experiences!
