Take a look into your future through this course, which gives you insight into the development of yourself, relationship of self to goals, career plans, managing conflicts, relating to others, and handling stress. Plus, distinguish yourself as a young adult.

452 Children in Your Future                                                           

As an adult, do you plan on being a parent or interacting with children? In this class, gain knowledge about the developmental needs of children and positive parenting practices that encourage healthy growth. Experience parenting responsibilities through the “Real Care Baby” project activity.

454 College and Career Readiness (Recommended for all Sophomores)

Plan personal and career goals; you do this by looking in to all types of career training such as college, career tech, military, certification/license, and apprenticeship fields. We look into what careers fit your skills and what types of education your career will require you to complete as well as what you can do during high school to help advance. We as a class also look into what you can do during high school to shorten your training length for your future career. We will explore trends, career training options, individual interests, and career fields to make a realistic career plan.

456 Personal Finance                                                                     

Whether in high school, college, or off to your first career, develop the survival skills to effectively manage your personal finances. Topics include making your money work for you; building a sound credit record; shopping for banking services, car, apartment, insurance; and protection from identity theft.

459 Food Power*                                                                               

Do you love food or would you like to learn an important life skill? Students will develop basic food preparation skills, plan healthy and delicious meals, study regional and foreign foods, learn how the food industry affects what you eat, and have fun working with fellow students as a team.
