Phlebotomy/EKG

Students complete intense classroom training, live draws and competency check-offs in interactive labs, followed by an externship through local hospital/lab facilities.  (Externship hours vary from the classroom hours and are assigned on rotation, may vary due to COVID-19 restrictions and site availability).
Upon exam passage, students become certified as Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) through American Medical Technologists (AMT). Students also obtain Healthcare Provider CPR and First Aid certifications. 
  • Enrollment/employment options are limited for students with felonies/recent criminal charges.  Students must meet with MACC to discuss BEFORE STARTING CLASS!

  • Complete/Sign Risk Advisory Form
  • Complete/Sign Program Enrollment Questionnaire
  • Attend Mandatory Orientation 
  • MMR vaccination (students under 50)
  • Flu vaccination (classes beginning November through March)
  • Complete Background Screening
  • Drug Screen (specific details given to enrolled students)
  • Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) 
  • Employment options are limited for persons with felonies or other recent criminal charges and may affect a student’s enrollment, externship and/or certification
