Introductory Computer Courses

 
Computer Applications 
This course utilizes Microsoft word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications to give students experience in using many features of these productivity tools. Topics include producing and editing documents, creating resumes and labels, and managing data and developing graphs in spreadsheets.
 
Computer Programming 
 Students will learn the BASIC programming language to create a final project which incorporates color, movement, and imagination. Sophomores must have earned at least a B in Algebra 1 and be enrolled in Geometry. Most students who take this course do so in their junior or senior year.
 
Introduction to Computers 
Designed for students with little computer experience, this course covers the history of computers and introduces basic user applications. It provides exercises in Paint, Microsoft Works, Internet, and presentation software.
 
Multimedia Basics

This year-long course combines the various elements of multimedia theory, production, history, and career opportunities to provide students with basic knowledge of the field through hands-on applications. The course utilizes state-of-the-art equipment and software to enhance the student’s learning experience. Elements of photography, video production, audio production, and graphic design will be emphasized in this course.

 

Web Authoring 

Students will learn to use HTML programming to develop web pages. Individual and team projects will require use of a variety of web page features.
