Medical Assisting Technologies

Students prepare for three certifications and numerous healthcare employment opportunities in Medical Assisting, Phlebotomy and State Tested Nurse Aide. Certifications include Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and Registered Phlebotomy Technician (RPT) through American Medical Technologists (AMT); and Ohio State Tested Nurse Aide (STNA). Gain experience and employer connections through externships.
  • Enrollment/employment options are limited for students with felonies/recent criminal charges.  Students must meet with MACC to discuss BEFORE STARTING CLASS!

* Students with a current Ohio STNA certification will receive credit for hours and fees.
* Students may complete earlier than scheduled pending externship rotations.
*On a space-available basis, students may enroll in the STNA
or Phlebotomy/EKG sections of the program, but will not

Program Expectations

  • Students must maintain 90% attendance and a 2.0 (C or better) Grade Point Average.  
  • Professional, respectful behavior in all classroom and lab learning experiences.
  • Scrubs are required uniform and included in the price of the program. 
  • Students must maintain attendance and grade requirements specific to each program section.
  • In order to graduate and be eligible for certification, students must complete ALL sections and ALL clinical/externship hours. 

Additional Enrollment Requirements

  • Complete/Sign Risk Advisory Form & Questionnaire
  • Proof of MMR vaccination (for students under
    50 years of age)
  • Complete background/drug screening (more
    information given at orientation)
  • Employment options are limited for persons with
    felonies or other recent criminal charges and may
    affect a student’s enrollment and/or certification
  • Student must be able to lift 50 pounds
